FAQ's
How do I book an Initial Consultation?
Click the 'online booking' at the top of the page OR any of the 'Book now' buttons and follow the prompts to make a booking. If you have any questions please send an email to ridewithstrength@outlook.com
What is Performance Coaching?
Performance coaching involves an initial consultation to discuss you, your goals and assess your movement patterns and strength to develop a tailored and individualised strength and/or on bike program for you. Ongoing monthly performance coaching will involve program updates, periodisation of sessions week to week, regular check ins, advice and support to help you stay on track and work towards your riding goals.
What is Exercise Physiology?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university qualified allied health professionals, having completed a minimum of 4 – 5 years of university education meeting stringent criteria for accreditation through Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) – including a minimum of 500 hours of work experience. AEPs are specialists in the field of exercise and create clinical exercise programs for the treatment and prevention of chronic injuries and conditions.
Exercise physiologists study the effect of exercise on the body, and the mechanisms by which exercise can reduce or reverse disease, support optimal health, aid in recovery from injury or surgery and improve performance. We believe exercise is medicine, and prescribe exercise to treat, or prevent health conditions and injuries in the same way a doctor might prescribe medication. We work alongside your GP, specialist and other allied health to best support your recovery and return to health.
AEPs specialise in the prescription of exercise and lifestyle interventions and carry out a thorough assessment before designing, implementing and evaluating safe and effective exercise programs. These personalised interventions are exercise-based and include health and physical activity education, advice and support.
Face to face or In person appointments available.
Can I get a rebate through Medicare or Private Health Insurance?
Rebates can only be provided for Exercise physiology.

Private Health Insurance
Private health insurance helps cover the cost of a healthcare treatment that the free public healthcare system does not. Exercise Physiology is covered via most private health insurance (PHI) funds and does not require a referral. Inquire with your private health insurance fund to check to see if your policy includes Exercise Physiology as an Allied health service covered under your policy. Some funds also cover Telehealth Exercise Physiology services, some do not therefore it is always best to check. Private Health insurance can only be used for Exercise physiology services to treat and manage injury or rehabilitation, not performance coaching services.
Medicare
A chronic medical condition is one that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or longer. Through the Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM, formerly EPC) you are entitled to up to 5 sessions partly funded by Medicare with a valid referral from your GP. Discuss this option for funding with your GP to gain referral to Exercise Physiology services.
Why Telehealth or online consultation?
If you can't make it to an appointment in person, online Exercise Physiology consultations have been shown to have similar benefits to in-clinic consultations. Online consultations are an effective way to meet with your Exercise Physiologist from the comfort of your own home with just one click of a button.
Telehealth consultations offer a high level of care and service, just like a face to face or in clinic service would. During your consult we will discuss your symptoms, concerns, and goals, to develop a treatment plan which involves advice on posture, exercises and stretches, and self treatment instruction.
